Good for points, slow interface

I bought some British Airways Avios through Points.com. The bonus offer was decent, which was the main reason I used it. The purchase went through without a hitch, and the Avios landed in my account in about 30 hours. However, I found the website itself a bit clunky to navigate, especially on my phone. It felt a little dated. Still, it got the job done for getting the points I needed, so it was a worthwhile transaction overall.

Loved my Marriott points purchase

I absolutely had to get more Marriott Bonvoy points for an upcoming stay, and Points.com made it so simple! I got a great bonus too, which was fantastic. The whole transaction was quick and the points were in my Marriott account before I knew it. I'm definitely going to use them again for sure. I'm telling all my travel buddies about this site!

United miles purchase and transfer

I used Points.com to buy United MileagePlus miles last month. The ordering process was straightforward on their website; I found the specific bonus offer easily. After purchasing, it took about 48 hours for the miles to reflect in my United account, which was within the timeframe they stated. I also tried their points transfer service for some JetBlue TrueBlue points to a family member. That transfer was completed in under 24 hours. Customer support wasn't needed, so I can't comment on that. The site felt secure for the transactions. It's a good option if you need to top up your loyalty accounts quickly.

Easy to buy Alaska miles

Needed some Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles for a last minute trip. Found a good bonus offer on Points.com and it was super easy to go through the process. The miles showed up in my account pretty fast, like within a day or so. Overall, a smooth experience.

Hey, thinking of buying some Marriott points for a trip. How long does it usually take for them to hit my Bonvoy account after I buy them on Points.com?

A Ashley B. 1 month ago
Mine usually show up pretty quick, like within an hour or two. Sometimes it's almost instant.

It can vary a bit. I bought some Aeroplan miles once and they were there in like 15 mins, but my friend said his IHG points took a few hours. I'd say plan for it not to be instant but usually same day.

Anyone ever tried to refund points bought on here? My travel plans got cancelled so I don't need them anymore.

A Alex Jackson 1 month ago
i think generally points purchases are final. you might be out of luck there.

Yeah, unfortunately, most loyalty program points purchases are non-refundable. I looked into it once for some Hilton points and it seemed like a no-go. Probably worth checking the specific program's terms for the points you bought though, just in case there's a loophole.

Is Points.com safe for credit card stuff? I'm always a bit hesitant with new sites.

R Robert 5 days ago
Been using them for years, never had an issue. It's a pretty big platform for loyalty stuff.

Totally safe. They handle transactions for a ton of major airlines and hotels, so they've got to have top-notch security. Your card info should be fine.

Are these points deals legit? Like when they say 50% bonus on Avois, is that actually what you get, or are there hidden fees or something?

J Josh Moore 1 month ago
Yeah, totally legit. The bonus is usually what it says. I've bought United miles with a bonus a few times and it always came through as advertised.

It's legit, I've used them. The 'discount' is just that you get more points for your money, not a price reduction on the base points if that makes sense. No weird extra fees or anything, what you see is what you pay.
